Wednesday 12th March - walks *** – Around Felixstowe – sunshine and sleety showers.

We had a really lazy start to the day not getting up yo well past ten as it looked dull outside with a chilly wind from the north west but then the sun started to make an appearance so I headed out in the van to take my daily weather pics to send to the TV. It is a job to think of something new to photograph so I parked opposite St Peters Church in Church Road to check another clump of Crocus’s on the green down Gosford Way. Sadly they were a bit past their best but there was a large area of daffodils coming which will be stunning in a week. I then checked out the lovely old church taking a few nice pics with the blue sky before continuing down to Felixstowe Ferry to check out the high tide and there was some really cool clouds over the Deben. Home for breakfast and sort out my pics while Mag was her usual busy self, sanding our front door and sorting out the shed, she in non-stop despite issues with her back and neck, there are no advantages in getting old! I did get some rolls out of the freezer for a picnic but the sleet arrived so we changed our minds! I then did my exercises really late followed by a quick snack before setting off on our daily walk at 3.45. We walked along the clifftop and with the wind offshore the sea was very flat with some top clouds again with rain falling on the horizon! Down through the Spa Gardens before coming out on the prom just short of The Fludyers and ambled back to the pier and it was actually very pleasant feeling quite mild as we were out of the chilly breeze. Round the pier and up the steep steps just past Wilco’s and home for a hot water bottle, cuppa and yummy hot cross bun, we know how to live!

PS - I got an alert on Facebook that there was a chance to see the Aurora so I drove down to Felixstowe Ferry but sadly nothing but the full moon was good:)
